Elect Reading Greens and keep the Tories out

We need your help to elect Reading Green Party councillors and keep the Tories out. All donations will be doubled.

Please consider making a donation to pay for campaign leaflets to encourage people to vote for us in May. This will help to consolidate our position as the main opposition Party in Reading, ahead of the Conservatives. Whatever you donate will be doubled through match funding.

We will stand a candidate in every ward across Reading, however the key Green candidates are:

Katesgrove Ward – Councillor Doug Cresswell

Thames Ward – campaigner Mike Harling

Vote Green to keep the Tories out

We can win. Last year we overtook the Conservatives on Reading Borough Council and we are now the main opposition party. We want to maintain our position as the second party on Reading Council, ahead of the Conservatives, and with even more Green councillors we can get more done to make the town fairer and greener.

Green action:

• We got the council to become a real living wage employer and will keep working for everyone to be paid a fair wage.
• We have lobbied for the council to insulate homes to cut bills and carbon emissions. We won’t stop until every house is well insulated.
• We have worked hard all year round standing up for Reading residents on small but important issues – rubbish, potholes and fixing broken streetlights.

Your donation will be doubled

A generous supporter has agreed to double every donation made up to £600. So if you donate £20 it will make £40 of impact. If everyone gives what they can we hope we’ll be able to raise £1,200+.

Why do we need the money? 

Politics can be expensive. There are lots of costs involved, especially in producing campaign leaflets and posters, and print costs have increased. 

Unlike the bigger political parties, the Green Party doesn’t have big business donors and relies solely on contributions from normal individuals. So if you believe in our message of hope, please help to support our cause by donating what you can and sharing this campaign.
