Voters across the country will be going to the polls on 4 July 2024. The public will be giving their verdict on the Tories 14 years in office. They'll also be giving their record on Labour's bland offer which fails to meet the challenges facing the country.
In Oxford East, the Green Party is the main challenger to Labour. In this year's local elections, the Greens were the second placed major party in the wards that make up the constituency, beating both the Liberal Democrats and the Tories. The Tories secured less than 6% of the votes in these wards.
The Tories not only have no chance of winning the general election, they also have no chance of winning in Oxford East.
That means that voters in Oxford East can vote with their conscience, vote for real change and vote Green.
Our candidate is the brilliant Sushila Dhall. Sushila has lived in Oxford for 40 years and was elected to Oxfordshire County Council in 1996, forming the first ever County Council Green Group with Caroline Lucas.
She was a Green County Councillor for 9 years, and a Green City Councillor for 5 years.
Sushila has always worked on the frontline, with homeless and marginalised people, and for the last 20 years has worked in East Oxford for a charity supporting refugees, asylum seekers and vulnerable migrants to rebuild their lives as part of Oxford’s diverse communities.
Because of our broken political system, the odds are stacked against the Greens. The Green Party doesn't have the backing of billionaires and big business. We rely on the kind and generous support of ordinary people like you.
Your donations will help us cover the costs of the £500 general election deposit and reach every voter in Oxford East with leaflets setting out our vision for the country.
With your support, we can secure the highest ever General Election vote share for the Greens and build towards winning a Green MP for Oxford East.
P.S. Because we're a political party
- Please note all donations will go to Oxford City Green Party to help our campaign to get Greens elected to the House of Commons.
- We're required to run permissibility checks on donations over £500. These will be completed as pledges are made. For the same reason, we cannot accept anonymous donations over £500.
- If you make multiple donations to Oxford City Green Party, they may be aggregated for our reporting purposes.
- Your details will appear in our election returns if valued over £500, and if you donate over £7500 your identity will appear on the Electoral Commission website.
