We're still collecting donations
On the 19th September 2022 we'd raised £850 with 13 supporters in 56 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Cwmbrân Town AFC was founded in 1951 and has featured in the top tiers of Welsh domestic football for the majority of its existence. The club became the inaugural winner of what is now known as the Cymru Premier and has represented Wales in UEFA European competition several times. The club currently plays at tier 4 of the domestic pyramid and runs a senior team plus 15 junior teams, both male and female. This equates to over 200 players, coaches and volunteers associated with the club. The club is proud of its mission statement which is the intention to give every individual the opportunity to play football, at all age levels, to progress to a standard they enjoy, in a friendly, sporting, thriving community.
The club is fortunate to call Penylan Playing Fields its home. The superbly-maintained ground is home to all of our junior teams and consists of two pitches and a modest changing room building.
It is the club's intention to develop Penylan to create a safe, secure and attractive community hub for players, coaches, volunteers and parents.
The club will achieve this through phased expansion work to the current building. Plans include:
Here are an architect's drawings comparing the current facilities (images 1 and 3) with the proposed expansion work (images 2 and 4):
The improvements and expansion of the current changing rooms facility currently in-place at Penylan will naturally improve the training and matchday experience for the hundreds of young players who call it home.
However, the expanded facility will also be available for community events ranging from a meeting space for local organisations to a base for various sporting and non-sporting festivals.
The club is fortunate to have several hard-working and dedicated volunteers (although we can never have enough!) who are keen to realise the potential of Penylan and its role as a base for the club and a safe and secure community hub for so many young players and coaches.
However, whether we are able to achieve this aim depends on the support we receive. The club is actively seeking a grant to help with this ambitious project but, as with most grants of this nature, the success of the application depends on the club being able to demonstrate that it too can contribute financially towards the project.
Therefore, it is with this objective in mind that was ask that you:
* Pledge your financial support - let’s start building tomorrow, today!
* Share our project and this page with your friends, family, community groups, and through your social media channels. The more people we reach, the greater the chance of success!
* Local businesses: please get in touch. Perhaps we can combine advertising space with your pledges?
