We want to create a vegan animal sanctuary to provide safe forever homes for farmed animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
We have purchased an old dog breeding property and want to convert it to a no kill animal sanctuary - Ananda Animal Sanctuary. The goal is to rescue and provide refuge for farmed animals where they can live out the remainder of their lives in a safe and happy environment. By training up volunteers in animal care we want to open the sanctuary to the public and provide educational tours and workshops, helping children develop compassion and empathy for our animal friends. Altogether helping society outgrow the unethical mindset that animals are here for us to do with as we please. With tailored programmes, we hope that the experience of animal interaction will be of significant benefit to at-risk youths, those with learning disabilities and people with mental health issues.
Having had a close bond with animals all my life, building an animal sanctuary has always been something of a dream. I feel a deep sense of responsibility to speak for the voiceless and protect these innocent beings from the unnecessary suffering they endure in factory farming. The start of the video shows other similar animal sanctuaries, some of which I have volunteered at personally and I hope to create the same happy haven at Ananda.
We are self funding the majority of this however we need your help to raise the outstanding balance. As you can see from the video of the land we purchased, we have our work cut out for us! Please help us help the animals!This project will assist in funding the purchase of the land and the costs involved with setting up the necessary fencing, feed and housing for the animals. We wholeheartedly believe that the sanctuary will not only benefit many animals but also the people in nearby communities who visit us.
