We’ve secured £25.6m to build 184 homes, but need £408k by Sept to start. Without it, the project stalls - help transform young lives today!
WE NEED £408K BY SEPTEMBER - OR THIS PROJECT STOPS
Right now, too many young people in our community are facing homelessness, unsafe housing and growing health challenges.
We already support over 150 young people in our Romford hostel every day. But the reality is our current building is no longer fit for purpose.
Built in the 1960s, it’s outdated, costly to maintain and does not reflect the quality of environment young people deserve. In recent months, concerns raised by residents and members have made this even clearer.
We know we need to do better - and we have a plan to fix it.
A CLEAR PLAN TO TRANSFORM WHAT WE OFFER
We are ready to redevelop our Romford site in two phases:
Phase 1: Build 184 brand-new supported homes, with modern, safe living spaces, shared areas and outdoor courtyards.
Phase 2: Refurbishing our existing hostel to provide a safe, modern environment for residents, followed by the refurbishment of our health and wellbeing spaces for the wider community.
This is about more than replacing a building. It’s about raising the standard of support and expanding what we can offer.
WE ARE READY - BUT AT RISK OF NOT STARTING
After three years of planning, everything is in place:
Planning permission secured£25.6 million funding securedContractors ready to begin
But we are now at a critical point. We must have spades in the ground by September. To do that, we need to raise £408k. Without this, the project cannot move forward.
£408k will cover essential pre-build work - preparing the site, completing final design work, carrying out ground and drainage surveys and meeting key planning conditions. These are the final steps needed to release the £25.6m funding and get construction underway.
WHAT’S AT STAKE
If we don’t act now:
Young people will continue to live in accommodation that isn’t fit for modern needsMore people will face homelessness with limited support availableWe will miss the opportunity to expand vital services across our community
We are already at capacity - and demand is rising. Standing still is not an option.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
Your donation will help us take the final steps to get the build started - bringing this vision to life for hundreds of young people. Whether it’s £10 or £100k, every contribution moves us closer.
Your support will unlock the start of construction - releasing a £25.6m investment and making this transformation possible. This means:
184 new supported homes alongside our existing provisionThe ability to support hundreds more young people every yearA modern environment that promotes safety, dignity and recovery
It will also enable expanded community programmes in phase two, including:
Stroke and cancer rehabilitationSocial isolation groups50+ health and activity sessionsInclusive wellbeing and fitness programmes
This is about creating a place where people can rebuild their lives - and stay well for the long term.
REAL CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
We see every day what the right support can do. Young people who arrive facing homelessness can rebuild their confidence, gain independence and move into education, employment and their own homes.
“The staff didn’t give up on me – even when I struggled, they kept supporting me.”
We know this works. Now we need the space to do more.
THIS IS THE MOMENT
We have the funding. We have the plan. We have the need.
What we don’t yet have is the final £408k to get started.
Donate today and help us start building by September.
Because without this step, this project - and the opportunity to transform hundreds of lives - will not happen.
Thank you - your support today will help create a place where young people can belong, rebuild their lives and thrive for years to come.
