Help us fulfil our pre-COVID development plans to support those with additional needs, those in hardship and to maintain our club programme.

Our Club and Community COVID Recovery Appeal aims to ensure we maintain our inclusive offer whilst providing a great club and performance pathway.
This is how we will use money raised from this appeal.

The good news is that if we raise £7,000, we will be eligible to apply for Sport England Return to Play match funding to boost us up to £14,000.

The combination of three lockdown periods, reduced numbers of swimmers allowed in the pool and not being able to run our open meet in 2020 and 2021 has meant it has been a financially challenging time for Bristol Penguins. Whilst we supported our paid coaches and ran a health and wellbeing programme for our swimmers, we have not been able fulfil our pre COVID club and community plans.

Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club is a community-based, not-for-profit teaching and competitive club based across Bristol. We are a friendly and inclusive club with around 450 members ranging from those learning to be swimmers, competitive squads, less competitive squads and a masters section for adults. Our ethos is to teach and coach members not just to swim but to become lifelong swimmers. We aim to do our bit to help our members develop as young people as well as swimmers, such as through our young volunteer programme. We were delighted to win Swim England Club of the Year for 2019, a fantastic achievement recognising the hard work put into the club and our successes.
