Help USC bring Ukrainian trade unionists to the UK

Aim

Help fund our essential campaigning in the months ahead, including bringing Ukrainian trade unionists to the UK in August and September.

Since the full-scale invasion began, Ukraine Solidarity Campaign has raised many hundreds of thousands in funds and aid for Ukrainian labour movement appeals – supporting frontline defenders and essential workers behind the lines. That fundraising is continuing: but we also urgently need funds for campaigning activity in the coming, crucial period through to 2027.

We are asking for donations to allow us to:

1) Fund a visit from two Ukrainian trade unionists to speak to UK trade unions at the end of August 2026. One of them is a rep of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear workers detained and abused by the Russian occupation authorities, campaigning for the freedom of her colleagues still imprisoned. This is particularly important since a motion on the Zaporizhzhia workers is going to TUC Congress in September.

2) Fund a visit from Ivanna Khrapko of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine and the State Employees Union of Ukraine to TUC Congress (including our Ukraine solidarity fringe meeting).

In addition, if we can raise enough, we need funds to:

• Produce leaflets and materials for events including TUC Congress, Labour Party conference and Green Party conference.

• Fund our costs for planned participation in the upcoming international convoy to Ukraine (through which we will hopefully deliver aid from our ongoing projects).

• Help organise and enable maximum participation in our Annual General Meeting, in London in December.

Ukraine Solidarity Campaign has done a lot this year – raising large amounts of aid, organising many demonstrations and events, and waging a struggle in the UK trade union movement and left that has further strengthened solidarity for Ukraine. We urgently need funds to continue our work into the autumn. Your help is appreciated!

We're hoping to raise £4,000, if possible by the time of TUC Congress (starts 13 September).
