Aim

Our aim is to run a Buried in Treasures Course, an evidence-based programme to help people living with hoarding disorder find freedom & hope

For too many people, home isn’t a place of comfort, it’s a source of shame, anxiety and isolation.

We’re raising funds to run the Buried in Treasures Course, a 16-week, evidence-based support programme that helps people living with hoarding disorder find freedom, connection, and hope.

Your donation will help those who desperately need support to access this life-changing course, regardless of their financial situation.

Why This Matters

Hoarding disorder affects over a million people across the UK, yet support is limited and often unavailable. Many people struggle alone, misunderstood and overwhelmed by possessions that take over their homes and lives.

Behind every cluttered room lies a story of loss, trauma, or fear, not messiness.
The Buried in Treasures Course offers a compassionate way forward.

What the Course Offers

Buried in Treasures is a structured, evidence-based group programme grounded in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT).

Over 16 weekly sessions, participants meet in a small, supportive group where they can:

  • Understand the thoughts, feelings, and behaviours behind hoarding
  • Learn practical skills and develop decision making
  • Take small, manageable steps toward lasting change
  • Feel seen, supported and less alone

“Coming to Buried in Treasures on a weekly basis has been really helpful. I am learning a lot throughout the group. The people in the class are nice and friendly and we discuss our own thoughts and options.”
 — Rachel, Portsmouth

More than 70% of participants report significant improvements in how they think, feel and act around their possessions.

Why We Need Your Help

It costs £375 per person to run the full course, including venue hire, materials, and trained facilitators. Our goal is to raise £6000 so that we can offer fully funded or part-funded places for people who would otherwise miss out.

Every contribution, big or small, makes a real difference:

  • £25 supports one participant’s weekly session
  • £50 purchases a workbook and materials for a participant
  • £100 pays for the hire of the room
  • £375 fully funds a place for one participant

What Participants Say

“It’s the first time I’ve been in a space where people understand.”

“I’ve started to make progress I never thought possible.”

“The group gives me hope that I can change.”

Together, We Can Make Change Possible

Your support will help people, who feel trapped by hoarding disorder, to take the first steps toward change.

Please donate and share our campaign so we can reach more people in need of this vital support.

No one should have to face hoarding disorder alone. Together, we can help uncover the person beneath their treasure and help them rebuild their life.
