To raise additional funds needed to support extra families during the cost of living crisis and the greatly increasing number of requests.
Who are Baby Bank Norfolk:
We are a charity run solely by volunteers who provide bundles of essential items for babies aged 0-18 months to support families in need across Norfolk. We work via referrals from professionals linked to families, accessing their needs to submit and collect items to provide to the families. These items are mainly via donations of pre-loved and new clothing, bedding, Moses baskets, changing mats, bottles, nappies, essential toiletries for babies and mothers, plus toys and books.
Impact of the cost of living crisis:
Last year we saw a big increase in the number of referrals received following the covid pandemic for over 240 families, previously averaging at 180 per year. This year already up to the end of August we have helped over 170 families, with the last months of the year typically our busiest we are likely to exceed last years total due to increased financial pressures on families as a result of the cost of living crisis. In total we have now helped over 1,200 including over 70,000 items of clothing.
We need your help:
There are a number of items we need to buy new including Moses basket mattresses, bottle teats, changing mats, sterilisers, toiletries, nappies, washing powder, breast pads and maternity pads. This is where we need your support to help us raise the funds needed to fulfil all the referrals received.
Any support you can provide will be amazing and really help us to ease financial poverty for many families during this challenging time.
