We are raising money to pay production and staff costs of Kingdom, a play that asks what it means to be British in a divided era.
“We were strong, together. We had ourselves something. And that’s what’s been taken away.”
In an uncertain present, one elderly man and his sick wife are being forced out of their home by a new development. A well-meaning son tries to make his father see sense and leave the past behind. When an unexploded bomb is discovered beneath the property, they will be forced to confront the divide – who gets left behind, and who gets caught in the middle.
Kingdom originally ran as part of a double-bill at the White Bear Theatre, earning praise for its nuanced portrayal of a father/son relationship, national trauma, and community breakdown:

Now we’re looking to revive the show with a bigger budget, longer run, and expanded script – but we need your help!
We’re trying to raise £2,000 to help get the project off the ground, which will help pay for:
1. Rehearsals
2. Production costs
3. Staff wages
As Britain leaves the European Union, following an historic and decisive election, this play attempts to understand what happened, and where we go from here.
As little as £1 could really go a long way – will you help make this show a reality?
