Plymouth Foodbank are working with Luke Pollard MP to fundraise and buy electric blankets for people who cannot afford their energy bills.
by Maria Mills in Plymouth, United Kingdom
People are coming and asking for tights to wear in bed to keep them warm, some are reporting that they cannot have their heating on and are going to bed to keep warm. We would like to get heated underblankets that can be kept switched on low to maintain the temperature of the bed and relieve the risk of health issues related to low temperatures. This meets the advice to heat the human not the home and becomes more affordable for those whose budgets are already stretched. Plymouth Foodbank already is providing food, but heating is an ongoing issue. We want to make sure that no-one who comes to us has to face the misery of being cold, hungry and sad. Help us to meet their needs.
