The Village Hall is home to many North Ferriby activities. We need to raise money so we can meet the increasing costs of running the Hall.
North Ferriby Village Hall Trust is a charity, staffed by unpaid volunteers, that manages the Village Hall. The Hall is at the centre of our community and is often described as the beating heart of our village. The meeting rooms and space we provide allows a wide range of clubs and societies to run activities for all ages during the day and evenings. We host activities ranging from Badminton to Zumba and everything in-between and hundreds of people are involved and benefit every month.

The Village Hall provides a large indoor heated and lighted open space that is ideal for sports such as table tennis, badminton and short mat bowls. These clubs are able to use the indoor arena throughout the year and that helps keep our community fit and healthy.

The indoor space is fantastic for activities such as Toddlersense where babies and toddlers have a soft play area that allows them to build their physical, social, creative and intellectual skills.
Adults benefit from Zumba - a high energy group fitness class based on cardio exercise and Latin inspired dance.
Grin and Tonic provides seated exercise and indoor games plus a cuppa and a chat. Social interaction and vital exercise for the older and less mobile members of our community.
The Wednesday Club is a friendly, sociable village club that meets on alternative Wednesday evenings. Their programme is extremely varied, with invited expert speakers on many interesting and informative topics and they always find time for a chat afterwards.
The Flower Club meet monthly to enjoy flower arranging and floral artistry created live on stage.

Our Jazz Jam musicians meet once a month. Playing music inspired by Django Reinhardt, Miles Davis. Chet Baker and many more.
The local u3a family history and bird watching groups meet monthly in the Hall.
Ferriby Screen with its cinema quality wide screen projection and surround sound system, brings the classic movie experience to the Hall every month.
Ferriby Live offers a wide variety of dinner dances, music gigs, variety acts, race and quiz nights with something organised almost every month.

Our Spring and Christmas Craft & Produce Markets attract hundreds of people every time and provide an essential retail outlet for local craft artists and food producers to access their enthusiastic customer base.
In addition to this, the Hall provides a venue for wedding receptions, birthday parties, family celebrations and wakes. It also provides a venue where other Ferriby societies such as the French Twinning Association can organise their own event programmes.
All of the above are dependent upon the Hall remaining open and being able to meet all the operating and maintenance costs. All of these activities and events are vital to the well being of a rural community like North Ferriby. They allow our villagers to meet, socialise, exercise and enjoy themselves, without needing to get in the car or take public transport.
This project has been given a massive funding boost by Co-op Warm Spaces who will match fund a supporter's (could be an individual, club/society or business supporter) first donation of up to £250. That means your donation of £25 could be worth £50 and a donation of £100 could be worth £200 to your Village Hall. Your donations can also generate valuable and interesting rewards for yourself so please give generously and help us to keep your Village Hall open for all of us to enjoy.
The Hall does not receive any funding from central or local government and we have to generate all the money required to run the Hall. Increasing energy and other bills means that we can no longer cover all the operating and maintenance costs from the hire income we receive. We currently have a £7000 hole in our annual operating budget. This means that we have to raise additional funds just to keep the Hall open.
Villagers will know that we already run a wide range of of volunteer organised entertainment events through the Ferriby Screen and Ferriby Live programme. These events mean that our villagers have entertainment on their doorstep and do not have to drive for a night out.
It was intended that the funds raised through these entertainment events would be used for the continued development and long term improvement of the Hall. In reality, they are having to be used to subsidise the day to day operations and with them we are just about keeping our heads above water. This is not sustainable and unexpected costs could lead to a funding crisis and Hall closure.

We are living on a hand to mouth basis and have been unable to generate the cash reserves that we know could be required at any time to fund emergency repairs on our 100 year old buildings. In December we had to replace the cinema projector and repair the leaking roof. Those two unexpected things cost us more than £3600 and have severely depleted our bank balance.
We want to raise £7000 through crowd funding to fill the hole in our annual operating budget. We will continue to organise all our other fund raising entertainment events and activities and we believe a combination of everything will allow us to build the small cash reserve necessary to secure the Hall's future.
Crowdfunding will allow us to heat, light and maintain the Hall and and keep it open. The money raised will ensure that it remains a friendly and welcoming centre to be used and enjoyed by everyone in our local community.

1. Make a donation. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because Co-op Warm Spaces matched funding is both time and total cost constrained. The sooner you give the more secure the matched funding will be. ….but be aware that the Co-op scheme will only match your first donation.
2. Allow us to claim Gift Aid on your donation. If you are a UK tax payer we can claim an extra 25% of your donation. We have structured the individual donation & reward packages so that we are able to claim Gift Aid in most cases so please tick the Gift Aid box if prompted and provide any details requested.
3. Spread the word. Share our project with your friends and on your social media pages and encourage the village and wider community to get behind us. The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
4. Offer us additional rewards. If you are a local business then please help us by donating and/or contacting the Village Hall to give us your products and services, or you could offer a generous discount. We could include those gifts and discounts to extend our donation rewards or use them in our other fund raising activities. We will of course recognise your kind support within our publicity materials.
