Who are Hearsall Litterbusters?
Hearsall Litterbusters was founded in the summer of 2020 to litter-pick known problem areas in the Earlsdon, Chapelfields and Spon End areas of Coventry.
Initially sparked by Grapevine Coventry's Connecting For Good movement following the experience of lockdown, Hearsall Litterbusters aims to build community pride and foster friendships within the local area whilst keeping Coventry tidy!
How can you help?
To-date, Hearsall Litterbusters have relied on the time and energy of volunteers with support from the Coventry City Council. Whilst unable to meet during lockdown, in 2021 Hearsall Litterbusters aim to take steps to better protect their members so they can safely expand their activities later in the year.
To help make this possible we're asking for donations towards the purchase of hi-vis vests, litter grabbers, and other essential equipment. It will also allow us to send a team member(s) on a sharps disposal course so that we can safely dispose of discarded needles found on picks.
Update - March 2021
Money raised earlier in the year allowed us to buy extra litter grabbers and hoops to better equip our volunteers - but we still need your help! Additional coverage in the media and joint-picks with other groups in Coventry have seen a surge in numbers attending our meets. This is only likely to continue as the word continues to spread, and the weather improves. Please consider donating to allow us to buy more kit, and expand our efforts into other parts of the city.
"Many thanks for the great work that you and the other volunteers do in the community which does make a real difference"
