To provide access to a weekly cooking club for residents that offers a social meeting space to learn new skills and share local recipes
We want to develop a weekly cooking club to provide residents of Milton with access to healthy food, cookery packs, recipe cards, information to help cook a healthy meal from scratch, and support to enjoy and choose a healthy diet.

Cookery activity will support provision of local produce / fruit and veg at low cost to residents. Learning practical cookery skills together in a weekly group will help people involved to feel less isolation and help support new friendships.

Information will be distributed on food waste, food miles, climate change, upcycling and reuse. Training and upskilling of residents will create a long-lasting impact on community health and wellbeing.
The funds will support the development of the cookery club including the employment of a sessional cook to provide weekly group activities with access to a kitchen and a range of cookery equipment at the Milton Food Hub.
Through the club's activities, at least 24 local residents will access resources to address food poverty, physical health issues, mental health concerns, and addictions. By meeting to cook, people will gain advice and tips on how to make money go further and developing low cost, nutritious family meals.
