Herne Bay Cartoon Festival 2024
We did it
On 24th July 2024 we successfully raised £485 with 9 supporters in 45 days

We are now the only regular UK festival celebrating the art of cartooning. This will be the 11th year we've cartooned live in Herne Bay.

The Herne Bay Cartoon Festival needs your help to keep going.  We love what we do but in these difficult times raising funding for any arts project is a challenge.  We are offering some great rewards to anyone who can help us put on this year's 11th festival. But every donation, however small, will mean a lot to us.

Our festival was born out of the Duchamp in Herne Bay festival in 2013.  Every year since (apart from during the pandemic) we have welcomed back members of the Professional Cartoonists Organisation to show off their skills and have fun at the seaside.

This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the British Cartoon Archive, which is kept just up the road from Herne Bay at the University of Kent.  So we are also celebrating this important archive with an exhibition at the Seaside Museum.

We all volunteer our time to making this a great festival but there are some things we do have to pay for.  We are hugely grateful for support from Herne Bay Festival, the PCO and KCC but sadly it is not enough.

Please give your support in whatever way you can.  With grateful thanks

Ralph Steadman Signed Print

For the Duchamp festival in 2013, the amazing Ralph Steadman designed our poster. Go to our Facebook page to see a photo of the print and the signing. There were a very limited number of Giclee prints produced and every one was individually signed by the great Steadman himself. We have just a few left and are offering them to help fund this year's cartoon festival. The donation price includes standard postage.

£10 or more

Set of 6 Festival Postcards

Over the years we've printed postcards of our different annual posters. Each one created by a different professional cartoonist. For a donation we will send you a set of 6 different high quality cards.

£12 or more

I am not dead Tote Bag

Another popular treat from the Duchamp festival which is being revived. Donation includes postage

£18 or more

I am not dead... I am in Herne Bay T Shirt

When he visited Herne Bay in 1913, Marcel Duchamp sent a postcard to his friend Max Bergmann saying 'I am not dead, I am in Herne Bay'. We printed bags and T Shirts with this line, which was the tag for our 2013 festival. We are endlessly asked where these T Shirts are available. They have not been on sale, but we are doing a limited run this year to fundraise for the festival. 2 Sizes available. Price includes postage
