For the past four years, we’ve been here for families, friends and individuals with a warm space, a friendly face, hot food and activities to pass the time.
We are non-profit and here for the local community - all of you!
Winter is often a difficult time for us all and we want to support as many people as possible to get out of the house, meet new people and enjoy our awesome park. We run on goodwill, loose change, cafe income, donations and occasional funding but this winter is going to be difficult.
Our electricity bill alone is over £550 per month - compared to £250 per month when we opened only four years ago. This is more than a quarter of our usual monthly takings in the winter months and with staff wages, stock, repairs and maintenance, there’s very little left!
The poor weather of recent weekends has meant that we’ve had very few customers and have barely taken enough money to cover the upcoming bills, without adding staff wages, stock, repairs and any other surprise expenses that might come along.
November to February are always difficult for us so we are hoping to raise enough money to cover our electricity bills and any extras that pop up to give us a fighting chance of surviving another year.
We want to continue to be here for as many people as possible to support them with food, warmth and a friendly welcome and your donation, of any amount, will help to cover the essential bills that could cripple us at this time of year.
if you’re not in a position to donate to our cause, please consider sharing this appeal with family and friends - the more people we reach, the better chance we have!
