Aim

Our aim is to raise enough money to recover some of the huge loses suffered though Covid 19 and pay for a new clubhouse roof at South Park

Club Background

Hatherley & Reddings' Cricket Club (HRCC) is a family cricket club that serves the local community by providing sporting opportunities for children and adults, from age 5 upwards. The club currently has over 200 children taking part in weekly activity and over 100 adult members (male and female) involved with playing, supporting, volunteering or visiting the club on a weekly basis.

But like many others we have been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic, losing most of our income over the past 12 months.

Covid-19 Impact

The Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic has been a real challenge for the entire sport and leisure industry, and our club has suffered a substantial loss of income. In particular, our winter events would usually support our finances and the wider community by generating income through functions and skittles evenings.

Over the last 12 months our bar takings are down by a huge £30,420. Rental income and hall hire has dropped by £7,679 and we have lost over £9,000 in match fees and membership, we were also unable to secure sponsorship last season which we hoped would have been £1,000 - £1,500.

In addition to the above losses, the covid-19 pandemic prevented us from hosting our many social events, which bring in thousands of pounds of revenue via bar takings, ticket sales, donations and facility hire. These social events include:
- End of Season Dinner
- Sri Lankan Curry Nights
- Poker Evenings
- Annual Beer Festival Weekend
- Christmas Quiz Night
- Women's Soft Ball Festivals

We have, of course, cut our spending to protect the clubs finances but we would like to raise £20,000 to help recover financially.

What will funds raised be used for?

In additional to recovering loses we desperately need to:
1. Replace the roof at our South Park Ground.
2. Refurbish the Changing Rooms at our North Park Ground
3. Purchase New Roll-On Covers

1. New Roof Project

Throughout the winter, the roof at our South Park ground has had to be repeatedly patched due to weather damage. It is now in a state of disrepair and needs to be fully replaced. In it's current state, the weather is damaging the interior of the building too, leaving damp and in some cases, small puddles of water.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, the new roof project was already planned, but after suffering the huge loss of income, this has made this very difficult. The new roof will cost in the region of £14,000.
This crowdfunding effort will certainly contribute towards the repair of the South Park pavilion roof, which will become home to many junior games and our 3rd/4th XI in the summer.

2. Changing Room Refurbishment

If we hit out stretch target, we would also really like to refurbish the changing rooms (and showers) at our North Park ground, not only to improve player experience, but also to create 2 spaces that we can hire out to the wider community, thus helping to secure the club's future financial position. The changing rooms would provide a bright and energising space for cricketers on match days, but could double up as a vibrant and welcoming environments for hire, such as a physio clinic. As part of the refurbishment, we would also like to modernise the shower facilities, ensuring that they are attractive for male and female cricketers.1616494961_showers.jpg

3. New Covers

Finally, if funding allows, the club had originally planned to purchase a new set of roll-on covers for our main ground, allowing our current set to service our second, ground. Unfortunately, Covid-19 and urgent repair works have delayed this project, but it is still very much needed to improve the playing facilities for our senior and junior teams.

Our 'Ambitions'

HRCC is an ambitious club, with aspirations to become a 'hub' for the local community, rather than just a facility for cricket. We have made some great progress with this so far and have current partnerships with external organisations, including Jujitsu, skittles teams, Poker clubs, Gloucestershire Growlers (Visually Impaired Cricket Team), War-Gamers, Zumba, Rotary Club, Local council, Gloucestershire Cricket Board and many more. In the future, we hope to continue to grow our partnerships by working with local sports physios/rehabilitators, more local schools and other nearby businesses.1615829366_growlers.jpg
To achieve this goal and to become a 'hub' for the community, we plan to invest in our facilities, whilst maintaining cricket at the heart of the club!

1615829469_u11s.jpg Hatherley & Redding's Cricket Club is very much looking forward to returning to cricket in 2021 and we can't wait to see all of our All Stars, Dynamos, Girls, Ladies, Juniors, Seniors, Guests and Volunteers! It's been a long winter and cricket is nearly here!1615829456_eosd.jpg1615829432_wgs3.jpg
