Hastings deserves to have its best ever Pride in 2021, and together we can make it happen!
Hello everyone. Thanks for coming on over!
Last year, Hastings Pride, like so many others, was forced to cancel due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic highlighted and exacerbated many existing inequalities in society, and this was certainly true for the LGBTQ+ community.
Worsening mental health, increased isolation, the removal of queer spaces, loneliness (worst amongst older LGBTQ+ people living alone, and young people in homophobic and transphobic households), financial difficulties, a rise in hate crime- sadly, the list goes on.
Hastings Pride brings people together, in celebration and joyful resistance, to show the strength and solidarity in diversity. In its four short years it has gone from strength to strength, supported by the wonderful, colourful folk of this town.
So now we need it more than ever. And to make it happen, we are calling on that community to step up and help us. We’ve got a brilliant theme, some incredible acts waiting in the wings, and exciting plans to make this the best Hastings Pride yet.
Can you be the hero we need?
If you pledge to support us - at whatever level you can- we’ll show our thanks with an exclusive, exciting reward, from the coolest T-shirts you ever did see, to supper clubs and parties on the pier. Have a look at our perks below and pledge to be a part of ‘Love & Pride: an 80s Revival’.
And every little helps- whatever you can give all goes towards us putting on the best Pride ever, so you’ll be a part of it and have our eternal gratitude for any amount you can spare.
Of course, we appreciate that you might not be able to give anything right now, and so to you we say please share, share, share this page far and wide! Send it to influential friends, call on the movers and shakers to make this happen.
People of Hastings! Let’s do this together.
Love, pride and solidarity forever,
Natasha, Anton, James and Emma
