As we approach our 10th anniversary we are saddened to find ourselves short of the doubloons required to put on this free ,family fun-day.
An event on this scale takes months in the planning and costs thousands to deliver safely and successfully, despite the tireless efforts of Roger and his crew, whom all work voluntarily, this year securing funding has been an uphill struggle. Although supported by the local authority pirate day receives no public funding, sponsorship and advertising take up from local businesses and organisations has seen a massive downturn due to economic hardship and uncertain times. Whilst we thank those that have supported the event this year and past, we continue to pitch new sponsors and advertisers, if anyone is interested please get in touch.
We are doing everything we can to avoid making cutbacks to our prestigious event and so we ask you, nay implore YOU, the pirate public to support this 10th Golden Voyage by digging deep and sharing a few coins to this Crowdfunder and in the collection buckets when you see them so that we can deliver a safe, free and memorable day, that is welcoming to all this year and in years to come.
