Aim

A community-led project to restore Hartley Village with the historic factory site in Aintree, Liverpool.

Hartley Village was built to support generations of working families connected to the Hartley Factory site. It represents not just historic architecture, but a way of life rooted in community, shared identity, and local pride.

Today, the village and surrounding historic fabric require restoration and protection to prevent further deterioration and loss. Without timely intervention, elements of this heritage risk becoming unsafe, unsustainable, or permanently lost.

This project brings together the Hartley’s Village Residence Association, community partners, and professional campaign support to deliver a heritage-focused, community-led restoration effort.

The aim is simple:

to preserve Hartley Village as a living, functioning place, not a forgotten piece of history. preserving local heritage, improving shared spaces, and safeguarding the village for future generations.
