Harpal Brar, founding chairman of the Communist Party of Great Britain (Marxist-Leninist), was an Indian-born British Marxist who dedicated his life to the liberation of the working class. He struggled relentlessly on the side of the oppressed masses everywhere, supporting every important national-liberation struggle, recognising that the struggle for socialism in Britain is inseparably linked to the struggle against imperialism all over the world.
We are holding an event in his memory on 22 March 2025 at Bolivar Hall in central London. Please register for the memorial event here: Eventbrite page
We will be taking donations for Palestine solidarity workers who are providing direct assistance to the people of Gaza.
A British-Indian communist leader, he fought tirelessly for socialism and against imperialism. He kept the flame of Marxist theory and organisation alive in the most difficult conditions. Help us send aid to Gaza in his memory.
