A family-friendly children's haircare, café & play space in West Byfleet. Designed to make haircare fun, inclusive & stress free. Ages 0-14

Happy Hair ツ is a brand-new family-focused destination concept for West Byfleet, Surrey, UK. Bringing together children's haircare, a welcoming family café, soft play and community space all under one roof.
Designed for children from their very first haircut through to their early teenage years, our aim is to create a safe, happy, calm and SEN-inclusive environment where children feel comfortable, parents feel supported and families feel connected.
More than a salon, Happy Hair ツ is a place where families can relax, play, socialise and create positive memories together.
Happy Hair ツ was born from a simple belief:
'Children's haircare should be a positive experience, not a stressful one'
When my nephew was younger, he often found hair appointments very overwhelming and stressful. Like many children, he struggled with unfamiliar surroundings, busy environments, loud noises and sensory overload. What should have been a simple experience often became stressful for both him and the adults supporting him.
Over time, we discovered that small changes made a remarkable difference. A calmer environment, a more patient approach, engaging distractions and surroundings designed specifically for children transformed the experience entirely.
Seeing this transformation led me to ask a simple question:
This question became the foundation of
Happy Hair ツ.
While there is no shortage of hair salons and barbershops, very few have been specifically designed with children at the centre of the experience.
For many children, hair appointments can feel intimidating. Busy environments, unfamiliar surroundings, loud noises, long waits and sitting still in front of a mirror can be overwhelming, particularly for younger children and those with additional needs.
Parents are often left trying to manage anxiety, boredom, sensory sensitivities or emotional distress in spaces that were never truly designed for children in the first place.
To better understand local demand and ensure the concept reflects the needs of the community, I intend to conduct a questionnaire across local schools, nurseries, businesses and community groups. This research will help gauge interest in the Happy Hair ツ concept, gather valuable feedback from parents and carers and ensure the business is shaped around the needs of local families.
Rather than designing a business around the haircut, we have designed every aspect of the experience around the child.
From themed haircare stations, play areas, and family-friendly facilities to dedicated sensory-aware spaces, our vision is to create an environment where children and families feel safe, comfortable and excited to visit. A place where parents can relax, enjoy a coffee and feel supported rather than stressed.
Happy Hair ツ is more than a children's salon. It is a family destination & community hub built around the belief that children's haircare should be a positive experience not something families simply have to endure.
West Byfleet, my hometown, is a growing, family-focused community with excellent transport connections, expanding residential developments and a strong local school network.
Happy Hair ツ would be positioned at the heart of a thriving family-focused community in West Byfleet, surrounded by a significant concentration of nurseries, infant schools, primary schools and secondary schools.
The immediate area serves thousands of children aged approximately 1–14 and continues to grow through new housing developments and family-focused residential areas.
Botanical Place in West Byfleet town center. A modern, newly established retail space represents a unique opportunity to introduce a destination that complements the wider vision of the development while bringing additional footfall, activity and community engagement to the surrounding businesses.
Positioned within the heart of the community, Happy Hair ツ has the potential to become a valued local asset that families return to regularly, not simply for haircare but for connection, support and shared experiences.

Should future partnership opportunities arise, their involvement could help raise awareness of Happy Hair ツ through social media promotion, launch events, charitable initiatives and community engagement activities. Such collaborations have the potential to generate significant local and national exposure while reinforcing the family-focused values at the heart of the business.
Beyond marketing benefits, these partnerships could also create opportunities to support local causes, promote positive childhood experiences and strengthen the Happy Hair ツ position as a recognised community destination for families across Surrey.
Our ambition is not simply to attract customers but to build a trusted local brand that families feel proud to support and public figures feel proud to be associated with.
Happy Hair ツ begins with one location.
One community.
One opportunity to make a difference.
But we believe it has the potential to become much more.
With the support of investors, community partners, charities and local families, Happy Hair ツ can become a pioneering model that brings together haircare, hospitality, play, inclusion, wellbeing and community engagement in a way that genuinely improves family experiences.
Why We Are Raising £25,000
Our initial crowdfunding goal of £25,000 will help us take the next major step towards bringing Happy Hair ツ to life in West Byfleet.
Funds raised will contribute towards specialist children's salon equipment, sensory-friendly resources, soft play facilities, professional planning and design costs, branding, marketing and essential setup expenses required to create a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for local families.
This funding will also demonstrate community demand for the project, helping us unlock additional investment opportunities and partnerships as we work towards opening the first Happy Hair ツ location.
To demonstrate our commitment to the project, Happy Hair ツ will actively seek partnership contributions and match funding opportunities from local businesses, supporters, charitable organisations and community stakeholders who share our vision of creating a family-focused destination for West Byfleet.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to creating a unique destination where children feel confident, parents feel supported and families feel connected.
Every great idea starts somewhere.
We hope Happy Hair ツ starts here in West Byfleet.
Thank you for taking the time to consider our vision.
We would welcome the opportunity to discuss how Happy Hair ツ could become part of the future of Botanical Place and the wider West Byfleet community.
