Aim
We need expert professional help to fight the proposed designation of Lower Burytown Farm as a strategic housing site in SBC's Local Plan.
What is being proposed?
Landowners (the Barker FamilyTrust, represented by Knight Frank) have submitted proposals to Swindon Borough Council to designate Lower Burytown Farm 426 hectares of agricultural land directly adjoining the village of Hannington as a Strategic Growth Location in the new Swindon Local Plan.
The proposal would see up to 4,000 new homes built on agricultural fields between Broad Blunsdon and Hannington
Who we are:
We are a community group of residents from Hannington and surrounding villages who have come together to respond to this proposal properly and professionally. We are not against all development, we are against the wrong development in the wrong place, and we believe the evidence strongly supports our position.
We have already engaged with the Local Plan process, attended public meetings, submitted representations, and corresponded formally with Swindon Borough Council. This crowdfunder is the next step in ensuring we have the professional firepower to be taken seriously at every stage of the process.
What will the money be spent on?
Every pound raised will go directly towards the expert professional advice we need to mount the strongest possible case prior to Regulation 19 and the subsequent Public Examination.
