Aim
We are aiming to raise £10,000 to help us create a Community Café at our Gateshead hub, located at The Shakespeare Inn.
We are aiming to raise £10,000 to support our renovation of The Shakespeare Inn to our new Gateshead hub! This money will go towards creating a Community Café in the space, which will serve breakfast, lunch and hot drinks to the local community. The food will be prepared and served by volunteers, local people who may have come through our services and are looking to give back. The kitchen will also provide training opportunities for people to come and learn catering skills in a positive and welcoming environment, no matter whether you have previous experience.
This café will also enable us to run a whole range of community projects and partner with other local organisations. We plan to run a job club and debt advice service, our own version of a foodbank which invites people to come and cook meals for themselves and others, a Hygiene bank and lots more community projects.
The hub will also provide training in carpentry, and host our women's and men's craft groups which occur weekly. Upstairs, we are creating four self-contained flats which will be part of our supported housing offer.
Giving to our Crowdfunder will mean you are invited to an exclusive event which will include a restaurant-style meal in the café, on us! We can't wait to open the doors of the café and invite you all in.
