Club Des Femmes brings to you the exquisite yet untold stories of queer feminist cinema – keep Club Des Femmes alive online!
Who We Are
We’re Club Des Femmes, a queer feminist film curation collective dedicated to creating a freed-up space for the re-examination of ideas through art.
You might have met us at one of our great events. Perhaps during the UK-wide Revolt, She Said tour in 2018? At Ada & After in 2014, or Lesbian Camp at Rio Cinema in 2021?
Or maybe you’ve found us online via Culture Club… In 2020, we switched our focus from programming live events in cinemas to staying connected through publishing great new writing about undersung queer feminist film, TV, art, fiction and music. We commissioned over 50 articles and interviews for Culture Club, from legends like Lizzie Borden, Irenosen Okojie, Annette Kuhn and Christine Molloy.
What We Need
With such a treasure trove of writing, we want to make sure our website is as accessible and sustainable as possible. It was designed in 2014 to promote the events we were putting on, so it needs a serious overhaul.
We are recruiting an access-aware community web designer to make sure you can read, watch and listen to our content comfortably across all your devices. We will also have an archive of all our events, including some audio and video recordings.
We are a community organisation with no funding and that’s why we turn to you, queer feminist cinema lovers and avid readers, to support us so we can keep going, and keep our archives alive!
Where the Money Goes
Our goal is to pay a designer to improve our website’s functionality and, if with your generosity we go into stretch funding, to commission some brand-new PAID writing to celebrate our relaunch!
