Doing a Half Iron Man with 6 crazy Middle Aged Men In Lycra (MAMILS) to support the roll out of Covid vaccines to struggling countries.
About 8 months ago, during the height of the pandemic I somehow was persuaded by a bunch of unlikely lads to sign up to a Triathlon in the beautiful picturesque Cotswolds.
What they failed to mention was the type of Triathlon... It later occurred to me, once I’d read the small type that it was actually a Half Iron Man which requires participants to do a 1.9km Swim followed by a 90km Bike ride, followed by 21.1km run.
Once I picked myself up from the floor I started training with the hope I could build up my stamina to give me a chance of nailing it.
As the vaccines roll out to all the lucky countries , I feel more needs to be done to support struggling countries with regards to promoting and supporting their vaccine rollouts. After all, nobody is safe until everybody is safe!
This is why I feel Vaccinaid is a noble and fitting charity I would like to support and shine a light on because of the fabulous work they are doing to support this cause.
I hope and wish you feel the same way and will dig deep in your pockets to support this wonderful charity by sponsoring me on Sunday 6th June when I hopefully fall through the finish line.
