Aim

I'm running the Hackney Half on 17 May 2026 to help break the cycle of addiction and homelessness with the People's Recovery Project.

For the second year I'm running the Hackney Half in memory of Grant Kingsnorth, a Hackney-based writer, friend and colleague who passed away in December 2024.

Grant was a writer on politics and social issues, a loving partner to Sarah and a loyal friend to so many people from all walks of life. You can read some of his, work here: https://inmyshoesnorthlondon.blogspot.com

Grant was also homeless and lacked access to residential recovery.

One in three people with experience of homelessness die of drug and alcohol-related causes. However, when people are given the opportunity to access residential detox and rehab the results can be transformative.

The People's Recovery Project provides packages of support and residential treatment: co-designed and co-delivered by community members with lived experience. This is the kind of support that Grant believed could have helped him.

You can find out more about this amazing charity on their website: www.thepeoplesrecoveryproject.org

Your help for this small charity will directly help people like Grant to get the support they need when they need it.

Thanks so much for whatever you can give.
