Jessica Rose is fundraising for
The People's Recovery Project
Charity No. 1199225

£480
I'm running the Hackney Half on 18 May to raise funds to help homeless people recover from drug and alcohol addiction and break the cycle of addiction and homelessness.
This year I'm running in memory of Grant Kingsnorth, Hackney-based writer, friend and colleague who passed away in December last year.
Grant was a writer on politics and social issues and champion of everyone who he would describe as 'the underclass'. He was a loving partner to Sarah and a loyal friend to so many people from all walks of life. You can read some of his, work here: https://inmyshoesnorthlondon.blogspot.com
Grant was also homeless and like one in three people in this situation, he sadly died of drug and alcohol-related causes.
Opportunities to access recovery support are extremely limited for homeless people. However, when people are given the opportunity to access residential detox and rehab the results can be transformative.
The People's Recovery Project provides packages of support and residential treatment: co-designed and co-delivered by community members with lived experience. This is the kind of support that Grant believed could have helped him.
You can find out more about this amazing charity on their website: www.thepeoplesrecoveryproject.org
Please help me reach my funding target and help people like Grant to get the support they need when they need it. Thank you!
