We Need Your Support
We’re raising £10,000 for the HAC Access Fund to ensure that swimming remains accessible for EVERYONE in East London.
This fund covers training fees, travel costs, and competition entry fees for those families and individuals who need financial support.
Your donation will directly support the well-being, fitness, growth and success of our diverse swimming community.
We Are
Hackney Aquatics Club (HAC) is a community swim club based in East London. We are an inclusive club for all, from young beginners to competitive athletes, para swimmers and master squad members.
Regardless of age, ability, or background, everyone finds a welcoming community at HAC.
Our mission is to break down barriers to swimming and ensure that our membership reflects the rich social, cultural and ethnic diversity of Hackney and its surrounding boroughs.
- The HAC Access Fund, provides help for those swimmers who would otherwise not be able to participate and benefit from the club’s success.
- Along with the Access Fund, our ‘Pay It Forward’ scheme allows our members to gift club kit and equipment to those who need it.
- We promote sustainability, offering second-hand club kit and equipment at ‘pay what you can’ prices.
- HAC has a Young Volunteers Scheme, a mentoring pathway for young swimmers to become coaches. We also offer the opportunity for children to complete the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme.
Our Achievements
- The Hackney Aquatics Club swimmers successfully compete at National, Regional and County levels.
- In the 2024/25 season, Hackney swimmers reached a new milestone with the highest number of national qualifiers and finalists ever at the British Championships.
- Additionally, we have swimmers who have qualified for the 2025 Olympic trials.
But success isn’t just about medals — it’s about belonging, confidence and personal growth.
Why Your Support Matters
Many individuals and families are facing increasing financial challenges, and we believe no one should miss out on the sport they love due to cost.
The HAC Access Fund provides financial help to swimmers who would otherwise struggle to participate.
How You Can Help
In the words of our swimmers:
‘HAC feels like a big family’, ‘everyone is always there for each other’, ‘swimming gives me somewhere where I can belong’, ‘I love swimming with my friends’, ‘being part of a team’, ‘I love improving’, ‘It makes me feel calm’, ‘It clears my mind’.
