GWR 813's Drag Box Casting

Aim

To assist covering the cost of the new Drag Box for GWR 813.

Sadly, unique GWR No. 813 incurred a serious mechanical failure in 2022 when it's 120 year old drag box casting fractured whilst the loco was in service during the SVR Spring Steam Gala.

At the GWR 813 Fund (a registered charity) we have employed the engineering department of the SVR at Bridgnorth to cast and fit a new one, but this is going to cost in the region of £15,000.

We know how many supporters are keen to see our much-loved 813 back into service as soon as possible, so it can visit several other heritage railways before its current boiler certificate expires.
