We're still collecting donations
On the 6th June 2023 we'd raised £1,740 with 37 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

Support Veterans in Wales to learn a new skill, to make new friends and to support their own well-being through playing and sharing music.
Project by Friends of the Royal British Legion Band of Wales
On the 6th June 2023 we'd raised £1,740 with 37 supporters in 28 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.
The additional money will be used to fund the project to open an additional 5 groups across Wales. Supporting veterans and their families to beat isolation, improve their mental health and to learn a new skill that they can then share with others by becoming a volunteer in our groups.
ABOUT US
G4V is a project which supports Veterans struggling with their mental health and well-being by giving them a guitar, supporting them to learn how to play and meeting up as a group to talk about issues, practice the guitar and to receive the support they require.
Having the guitar breaks down barriers real or perceived, and enables the individual to learn a new skill, be in the company of like-minded people and to look after their own well-being.
Many of our veterans are struggling with hidden scars, PTSD is something you can't see but is very real.
OUR Impact
This project which currently has 14 groups in Wales has the potential to change lives for individuals, families and communities. Currently supporting 150+ individuals supported by 32 volunteers.
The hope is that we can establish a group in every community that needs one. This funding will help raise awareness of the work of G4V and also if we reach the stretch target will enable us to open more much needed groups.
'its like always having a friend sat in the corner of the room, just pick the guitar up and play you are immediately not on your own'
