GCC need to upgrade our electronic scoring system with a new digital scoring system and purchase ground equipment.
Guiseley Cricket Club is located 10 miles north of Leeds in West Yorkshire along the A65 main road surrounded by the rolling hills in the lower Wharfedale valley. We are a family oriented club and one of the founder members of the Aire-Wharfe Senior & Junior Cricket League (https://awscl.play-cricket.com).
We have a long and proud tradition within the Aire-Wharfe senior and junior cricket leagues, being one of the founding members. We have:

Why are we Fundraising in 2023?
We have Crowdfunded over the past 2 years to install a new practice nets facility replacing the old one we had which had become unusable. We have successfully raised funding for this project and completed it with help from our supporters and local community. We now want to run another Crowdfunding campaign to support ambitious plan to upgrade many of its facilities and promote participation not just in the sport of cricket but also local sports and community groups. The Cricket Club now has an urgent need to replace its current electronic scoring system with a current digital platform and to also fund new equipment to manage and maintain our ground. The scope of this fundraiser is as follows:
1) We urgently need to replace our aging score box display system which is now over 3 years of age and prone to failure. The display units and electronics need replacing with a solution with a warranty that is supported as the current platform is not and it can be costly to fix and maintain. the score box is used 5-7 days a week and plays huge part in all of the games played at the club. The requires £5000 to replace our old system with a more modern digital display that can be integrated with the online scoring system Play Cricket.
2) We are investing in our playing facilities and the space we provide a number of teams and clubs across the cricket club and local community. in order to maintain the fantastic space we have we need to purchase new ground cutting equipment which is in addition to what we have today which is to purchase a 'brush cassette' for our mower and growth mats to support and promote grass growth on our wicket. the brush cassette helps remove debris and ensure grass is cut to the correct height which is important when cutting cricket wickets.

we have a number of teams that use the cricket club including 8 junior team, 1 ladies team (The Guiseley Jets) and 3 senior teams. The ground is used everyday of the week by these teams and we need the scorebox to work and provide these teams with accurate and readable score information.

The latest digital scoreboxes also interface with playcricket.com to enable live scores and results to be posted in near real time.
The grounds equipment will help keep our facilities, pitch and square in the best condition possible. this helps to manage our environment, make it look pleasant and welcoming to all that use them and to support improved pitch facilities for our teams enjoy.
The overall quality of the external environment can have a significant impact upon how people feel when arriving at the club. We want to create a welcoming environment for all players, supporters and users that our whole community are proud of and want to use.
We have updated our stretch funding request to cover an emergency situation which has arisen whilst crowdfunding. The clubs heavy roller has sadly broken down and the repairs are looking too high to justify completing the work over purchasing a new roller.
Heavy rollers are unfortunately not cheap so we are planning to use any stretch target funding to fund the purchase of a £14k Power roll machine to replace our 20 year old roller. This is a specialist piece of equipment which the club cannot do without in preparing our ground for matches. We are currently renting a roller but the cost is high and this is not sustainable for the club outside of this season so we need to address this issue as soon as possible.

We have multiple sports that use our facilities so keeping our grounds and facilities in the best condition helps the teams that play at Guiseley Cricket Club but also the community and sports groups that use our facilities. We want to create an exceptional space that the local community and our members are proud of and willing to use.
We have a new ladies team playing games at the ground and we have increased our junior membership by 25% in the past year which is fantastic.
The cricket club is at the center of Guiseley and our ground is used and available to everyone wanting to use it. We want to promote sport and well being in the local community by providing the best facilities possible to support this.
Like many small clubs Guiseley Cricket Club has struggled to recover from the COVID pandemic with our activities and revenue streams impacted by 2 years of inactivity. We now have a number of activities to replace essential legacy equipment in a short space of time and additional funding is very much needed to support this for the good of our playing teams and also local community.
We are seeking additional funding from Sport England via the Covid-19 recovery fund, as it can help with projects that cannot be afforded right now due to the impact that Covid-19 continues to have on an organisations normal income streams, as well as a broader spectrum of issues that most of us now face.
Please support our fundraising activity to get matching funding to support the Facility refurbishments, maintenance or improvements we need to make. We want to see more of the scenes in the video below every night at Guiseley Cricket Club so you support is very much appreciated!

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
