Helping Hands: Will you protect young futures?

Aim
Our community’s young people are at risk of losing their extended family this Summer. We urgently need your £20, so this doesn’t happen!
We know that a thriving community is a healthy one. For years, community members like you have provided older sisters, brothers, mentors, friends and encouragers to young people in need across Coventry. This provision has come through GB.
Guardian Ballers is a community of volunteers dedicated to the mental health of our young people. It does this through empowering young people to become happy and healthy community-transformers. Young people are being magnetised by Basketball, then led to greater wellbeing, to have a greater impact on their own community.
Based on our last financial report, we’re not able keep resourcing and nurturing young leaders’ futures.
Guardian Ballers need £10,000 to provide vital training, development and leadership for our young leaders and volunteers.
Without this money we don’t have the capacity to engage, mobilise and co-ordinate our growing list of young people who are desperate to give back to the community.
This provision is so much more than funding wellbeing and basketball practitioners. It’s helps us build connections to people that are like family. They’re the cousin that’s encouraging through the hardest times. The sister preventing mental health relapses by being present, listening and encouraging young people to talk. The brother who’s reassuring each week that things will get better. The family showing a young person that they can be better.
Young people like Issy.
Issy joined the GB programme in her late teens at a Girls Community Hub during a difficult mental health moment in her life. Basketball became the magnet and the medicine! She then became a volunteer and is now a Basketball Coach for children while also doing a sports Degree!
