To finance the creation of a public woodland, here in Cornwall and a place for nature and people.
I got so weighed down by climate change, so overwhelmed by the shear weight of the scale of it. Not knowing what to do I planted a tree. Having worked as an arborist for many years I have working knowledge of trees, so planting that tree in that field was my obvious simple action against climate change, but it began a push back that has been going for 5 years now.
After planting that tree, taking that one simple small step I started Plant One. To date we have planted over 14,000 trees almost 35 football pitches of woodland restored.
And whilst creating woodlands and boosting biodiversity is important, accessing public green spaces is just as important. With over half the woodlands we have are in private ownership. Its of extreme importance to create a woodland habitat that the whole community can enjoy. We want to use this crowd funder to purchase land so we open up the woods to the public and engae them in the work we do.
