Aim

Help us buy a new tractor to maintain our pitches all year round — keeping Beragh Swifts safe, strong, and growing for the whole community.

💙 Who We Are

A proud club in County Tyrone, Beragh Swifts brings people together through football, friendship, and community spirit. Our facilities at Fountain Lane are a true community hub — used by players, local schools, community groups, and families every week. 💙⚽

🚜 Why We’re Crowdfunding

We’re crowdfunding to raise 35% of our £12,000 target to purchase a new Club and Community Tractor.

This essential piece of equipment will help us maintain and improve our growing facilities at Fountain Lane, ensuring they remain safe, high-quality, and welcoming for everyone — from our youth and senior teams to local schools and community users.

The tractor will also allow our volunteers to take full ownership of pitch maintenance, reducing dependence on outside hire and enabling essential work to be completed when weather and ground conditions allow — something especially important in our rural setting.

Why the Project is Needed

At present, the club has no tractor of its own and must hire one whenever maintenance work is required. This is costly, time-consuming, and makes it difficult to keep our facilities in top condition. As the club continues to grow and prepares for the new floodlit 3G pitch, having reliable and efficient equipment has become essential to maintain high standards and reduce ongoing costs.

Hire availability often clashes with the short windows of good weather we rely on to carry out vital maintenance. Our volunteers already give limited free time, and delays caused by hire scheduling mean important work like grass cutting, rolling, and verti-draining is sometimes missed entirely.

Our facilities also sit on a flood plain, which makes regular verti-draining even more critical. With our own tractor, we can carry out this work more frequently, helping to reduce waterlogging, protect the pitches, and keep them safe and playable for everyone.

Owning this tractor will allow us to brush pitches, use the verti-drainer, roller, and spreader, and keep our grounds safe & tidy. Most importantly, it will empower our amazing volunteers to carry out essential maintenance immediately, without the delays and restrictions caused by hiring equipment.

This independence will make a huge difference — giving our club full control over its facilities, improving reliability, and ensuring that community sport in Beragh can continue to thrive year-round.

🌱 Benefits and Community Legacy

  • Reduced Costs & Greater Efficiency – Having our own tractor will cut hire expenses and allow our volunteers to complete essential work quickly, effectively and most importantly when it is required.
  • Better Use of Volunteer Time – Volunteers will be able to act immediately when conditions are right, making their efforts more effective and rewarding.
  • Improved Facilities for All – Consistent maintenance will keep pitches safe, clean, and welcoming — benefitting over 300 players and hundreds more community users each year.
  • Community Wellbeing – Our facilities are used for birthday parties, school sessions, walking, fitness, and community events, providing a safe, inclusive, and positive space for all ages.
  • Stronger Community Connection – The club is at the heart of Beragh life, providing a space that brings people together across generations. By keeping our grounds in top condition, we can continue to support community wellbeing, friendship, and pride.
  • Resilience & Sustainability – With our pitches located on a flood plain, regular verti-draining and maintenance will reduce flooding, extend playing seasons, and protect our investment for the long term.
  • Sustainability & Local Pride – This project will protect our facilities for future generations, helping us remain a self-sufficient, community-led club at the heart of Beragh.
  • By investing in this equipment, we’re not just buying a tractor — we’re safeguarding a vital community hub and ensuring that Beragh Swifts continues to serve local people for years to come.

This investment ensures Beragh Swifts continues to be a vibrant hub for sport, recreation, and community life in the years ahead.
