We're raising money to improve this underused greenspace, using community-led action to create an enjoyable space for people and wildlife.
by Habitats & Heritage in Twickenham, England, United Kingdom
We want to transform the currently neglected and underused Grosvenor Road green space, and turn it into a hub for wildlife and an area for local residents to enjoy. Engaging local residents we plan on creating a wildflower meadow, with a walkway through it so people can fully immerse themselves creating a calm and colourful place to walk, sit, think, and watch local wildlife! We also will install a stag beetle loggery to support stag beetle populations in Richmond borough, further increasing biodiversity and connectivity in the urban landscape.
The project will:
With your help, we’ll be able to:
All of this will be done with and for the local community, ensuring that everyone has a chance to shape their green space.
This project will be more than just a beautiful space, it will be a vital part of a healthier urban ecosystem. The increase in wildflowers will attract insects, which in turn will support birds and small mammals. It will reconnect local people with nature and become a space to enjoy.
We believe in bridging the gap between people and biodiversity. With your support, we can create something that benefits both.
This project is driven by passionate local residents, and in partnership with Habitats & Heritage, a local charity working across southwest London, supporting communities to protect the historic and natural landscape. We have experience transforming underutilised spaces into thriving biodiversity havens through community-led action.
