Grosvenor Rd Green hub

Our Vision

We want to transform the currently neglected and underused Grosvenor Road green space, and turn it into a hub for wildlife and an area for local residents to enjoy. Engaging local residents we plan on creating a wildflower meadow, with a walkway through it so people can fully immerse themselves creating a calm and colourful place to walk, sit, think, and watch local wildlife! We also will install a stag beetle loggery to support stag beetle populations in Richmond borough, further increasing biodiversity and connectivity in the urban landscape.

The project will:

  • Increase biodiversity with native wildflowers
  • Create a habitat and food for stag beetles, bees, butterflies and birds
  • Improve nature connectivity with nearby parks and the River Crane
  • Offer a welcoming, accessible green space for local people
  • Allow for a deeper connection between the community and the natural world

How We’ll Use Your Support

With your help, we’ll be able to:

  • Sow native wildflower seeds across a 150m² area
  • Prepare a 15m² patch of low-nutrient soil, ensuring establishment of the meadow
  • Plant native plug plants to support early-stage meadow development
  • Use a no-dig approach to protect the soil’s fungal networks
  • Install a stag beetle loggery
  • Run two community days engaging local residents to improve their local greenspace

All of this will be done with and for the local community, ensuring that everyone has a chance to shape their green space.

Lasting Impact

This project will be more than just a beautiful space, it will be a vital part of a healthier urban ecosystem. The increase in wildflowers will attract insects, which in turn will support birds and small mammals. It will reconnect local people with nature and become a space to enjoy.

We believe in bridging the gap between people and biodiversity. With your support, we can create something that benefits both.
