The Dacorum Green Party welcomes the General Election as the chance for voters to choose hope and practical solutions to the climate emergency and the crises facing our country.

Our parliamentary candidate for Hemel Hempstead is green campaigner and conservationist Sherief Hassan.

He says,

"At last. This is the moment the country has been waiting for – the chance to vote for a different vision of what our country can be. We are ready. Across the country, people will have the chance to vote for a Green candidate offering voters hope and practical solutions to the cost-of-living crisis, supporting people into warm, affordable homes, protecting our NHS and cleaning up our toxic rivers.

Find out more about Sherief on our website.

Our parliamentary candidate for Harpenden and Berkhamsted constituency is global justice campaigner, Paul de Hoest.

He says,

“Greens are the only party that can be trusted to fight for people and the planet. A Green vote is an immensely powerful one, because people know what it stands for. Reforming our tax system to make it fairer, including a tax on the super-rich billionaires and multi-millionaires, we can invest in our NHS, warmer homes and cleaner rivers. We are offering the common sense, affordable policies that will dramatically improve our quality of life. Together, we can make the change.”

Donate to support our campaigns

We need to raise £1500 for our deposits, leaflets and posters.

Anything you can give will help! Here's how we'll spend it:

> £500 covers Sherief's election deposit

> £250 covers Paul's election deposit*

> £1350 pays for a leaflet to be delivered to every household in the 2 constituencies

> £20 pays for 70 Green posters

What happens to the money

Candidates in a UK Parliamentary Election must pay a deposit – currently £500. If they receive at least 5% of the votes their deposit is returned.

Half of Paul’s deposit is being raised by the St Albans Green Party, which includes Harpenden.

We need to cover 100% of Sherief’s deposit.

The money we raise from this Crowdfunder will go to the bank account of Dacorum Green Party, not to any individual candidate.

So wherever you are in Dacorum please give what you can. So everyone has the chance to vote Green: to vote for what they believe in.

Your Donation Dividend

Every donation has a double impact, and it could even have a triple impact:

1. Your donation gets a Green candidate for Parliament able to challenge the old parties.

2. When Paul and Sherief stand, all the votes they receive translates into government funding for the Green Party (Short money)

3. If Sherief or Paul retain their deposit, those funds come back and can be spent by the Green Party again, so we can keep building strength both locally and nationally.

Want to get involved?

We need people to help us sort and distribute leaflets, display posters. If you can help, drop us a line on [email protected]

Donation rules

If you pledge £500 or over, you must be on the electoral register - this is a requirement of donating to a political party. You must also be willing to provide us with your contact details and address. This is required by the Electoral Commission.

By making a donation you confirm that you are eligible to make political donations in the UK, and that this donation is not made for or on behalf of any other person.

All donations received are subject to the regulations of the Political Parties, Elections and Referendums Act 2000.

General Election 2024

The need for powerful Green voices in parliament has never been greater in what is a now-or-never decade for the climate emergency.
