There are currently nine excellent Green councillors on Wirral Borough Council who are working hard on behalf of residents of Wirral, but we could have a lot more after the local elections on 4th May.
Year after year more Wirral residents have been voting Green. They see the work our Councillors and campaigners put in all year round.
Wirral already has nine Green councillors; the elections on May 4th are your chance to not only re-elect them, but also elect our lead campaigners to join them on the council, increasing the Green influence.
All Wirral residents will benefit, not just those in wards which already have Green councillors.
Here are a few of our achievements since Green wins led to no overall control of the council by one party:
- A brownfield first policy for new housing, protecting our precious greenbelt
- An end to the destructive Hoylake Golf Resort plans
- Divestment from fossil fuels at the Merseyside Pension Fund
- A shift to a transparent committee system where key decisions are made in public, not behind closed doors
- A more energy-efficient Council, saving money and carbon emissions
Help to turn Wirral Green!
We need to raise £2000 to pay for newsletters, campaigning leaflets, and posters to communicate with voters - the work of delivery all being done by volunteers.
