Aim

We've done it in Manchester - now help Hastings Greens Keep Reform Out of our town! Let's make sure hope wins here ✊💚✨

The May 2026 elections are back on - and we need to raise £10,000 fast to help us keep Reform OUT and keep up our great Green work for Hastings.

Recent elections both locally and nationally have proved what we all know: the old parties are dead - it's Green or Reform in Hastings.

The parliamentary by-election in Gorton & Denton, where Greens made history winning their fifth MP Hannah Spencer, seeing off Reform and beating Labour into a dismal third, shows only Greens have the hopeful message that can combat Reform's divisive politics.

Here in Hastings, Reform UK took their first seat at East Sussex County Council in the Ashdown & Conquest by-election last November.

Greens came second in a ward we'd never campaigned in before, with Labour trailing in a distant fourth:

On Thursday 7th May, Hastings will go to the polls to elect 8 new East Sussex County councillors and 16 new Hastings Borough councillors - and we must make sure Greens win big!

1772180160_1772180159833.pngGreen Hastings Borough Leader Glenn Haffenden says, "Since taking the lead at Hastings Borough Council in 2024 we've brought in a 5-year housing strategy, stabilised temporary accommodation numbers and steered the council back from financial crisis. We're also building the first council-owned homes since the 90s and changing the culture at council to a more open, communicative environment that works together to deliver for our residents."

"This year we're turning our focus to passing a sound Local Plan that protects our borough, cleaning up our streets, transforming neglected neighbourhoods and giving everyone better opportunities to work, play and enjoy all our amazing town has to offer.

"We've only got two years left, so the more Greens at the table to help make these changes, the better."

1772180465_1772180464563.pngHastings Borough Council Deputy Leader and County Councillor for Old Hastings & Tressell, Julia Hilton, explains further, "Conservative East Sussex County Council control many of our vital services like buses, highways, children's services and adult social care. They are also the lead authority on our town centre regeneration. Much of the work we want to get on with at a local level gets held up by them. It's frustrating, and we really need change."

Hastings Greens need to raise £10,000 to fund our ambitious campaign to increase our group by four new Greens at Hastings Borough and four at County.

Glenn adds, "We don't have huge pots of money like Labour, Reform or Conservatives - Greens rely on the generous donations from our grass roots supporters for all of our work. Our success is down to every single one of you.

"Please give what you can and help us make sure that hope - not hate - wins the day in Hastings."
