Green Museum STEP 1

Aim

We want to be a world-class carbon neutral museum; replacing our gas guzzler with an electric van is Step One, please help us take it.

Covid/Brexit has been tough and centre stage. But we can't overlook the bigger picture of our children's futures and that of our planet. The Cinema Museum is embarking on a journey to become a world class green museum that leaves the lightest footprint wherever it treads. Future planning is not easy amid a pandemic and economic crisis, but we are determined to start taking positive steps towards a sustainable future. The most significant thing we can do here and now to help our planet is clear - we need to lose our petrol van. Its not fair on the environment or our neighbours - so we have found a lovely little electric van, at a great price, from the really helpful garage 'Angus Mackinnon' - but it won't be there for ever. So if you love museums and the environment then this is a great way to make a big difference - now and for a long time to come (our graphic design volunteer has done some photo-magic to imagine what it would look like if it were really ours!).
