The Green Party needs your help to win in the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Mayoral election 2026 💚
Join us in shaping our future; your support for our election campaign will make all the difference!
The Green Party is the only voice that truly understands how to build a stronger economy, protect our environment and support communities, offering green solutions that will improve all our lives, not just quick fixes for the benefit of a few.
This is the first time that Hampshire will have a regional Mayor with sweeping powers just like London or Manchester.
All the main parties will offer candidates. Any one of them could win.
The Green Party can win. But we need £10,000 just to get onto the ballot paper.
Anna Collar announcedThe Green Party has announced Anna Collar as its candidate for Mayor of Hampshire and Solent, ahead of the region’s first ever mayoral election in May 2026.
Anna is an archaeologist who lives in Lyndhurst and works as an Associate Professor at the University of Southampton; she is married to a local business leader and her three children go to school in the local area.
Anna, the Green candidate for New Forest West in last year’s General Election, went viral on social media last year for taking on Conservative MP Desmond Swayne during a hustings event and defending an audience member the MP had criticised for asking a question about sewage pollution in rivers, with the video gaining over 1 million views across Tiktok, X (formerly Twitter) and other platforms.
Anna said “I am delighted to be the Green Party candidate for Mayor of Hampshire and Solent. This is a wonderful place to live but it has been let down by the old parties for far too long. We need a Mayor who will champion bold ideas to get our region back on track. The new mayor has a lot to do!”
“We must invest in our communities and protect our natural world. Public services have been stripped back to breaking point by successive governments, to the point that many are looking for a new alternative. The Green Party is winning over voters in droves and I can’t wait to get out there talking to local people about the issues they care about, and what they want from their new mayor.”
The Green Party’s membership has surged in recent weeks, surpassing 80,000 for the first time and across the UK passing the Lib Dems in membership.
Anna said “With support for Labour and Conservatives crumbling, the choice for voters in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight is between the short-term, divisive and reactionary politics of Reform, or a fairer future built with hope and community at its heart offered by me and the Green Party”
-------------
No longer a simple choice of just two, no longer a two party system. The two party system is over. We are now a five party nation.
With a larger number of parties the number of votes needed to win is much lower. Voting tactically will not work. Your vote will actually count.
The Green Party can win.
We need a total of £15,000.
The Green Party has the highest trust level of all parties (according to a YouGov poll) as the party is not beholden to anyone but our members.
With a new Mayor in 2026, make sure that it is a voice that represents your views, Green views. It is vital a Green candidate stands, you can make that possible.
Please give what you can afford.
Thank you. 💚

P.S. Because we're a political party
We're required to run electoral register checks from people making donations above £500, and if you donate over £2,230 during a year, we are required to let the Electoral Commission know, who will make this available on their website.
