Hello, we are Elaine Hills and Sophie Broadbent, your Green Party candidates for Kemptown and Peacehaven, and Hove and Portslade.
As you know, the Tories have called a snap general election for 4 July. The Green Party Manifesto outlines our plans for a greener, fairer country, promising Real Hope and Real Change. We feel that it is important that everyone in Brighton and Hove has the chance to vote Green.
However, election campaigns, even smaller ones, cost a lot of money. We need to cover the cost of our deposits and also of the leaflets that you may have seen arriving on your doormat over the past few days. Unlike other parties, we can’t rely on big business to back our campaigns and so the main way that Green candidates can raise funds is through crowdfunding. Our goal is to raise £2,000.
Can you help?
Every donation is appreciated and makes a difference, big or small:
- £25 is a significant contribution towards standing a Green candidate
- £50 pays for 20% of a Green candidate publication
- £100 pays 10% towards our leaflet
- £500 funds one of our candidate’s deposits in full!
Whatever you can spare will be appreciated and put to good use. We know times are tight right now and we are so grateful that our communities are rallying around us to help make these campaigns happen and to make sure that everyone in Brighton and Hove has a chance to vote Green on 4th July.
We thank you for your support.
