Aim

Help us raise funds to transform Iford & Kingston Primary school's outside spaces to develop our school's outdoor learning provision.

Iford & Kingston CE Primary School’s PTFA is fundraising for the school’s ‘Great Outdoors Project’.

Our aim is to regenerate and transform the school’s outdoor areas to improve our outdoor learning provision and increase opportunities to connect with nature for the well-being of our pupils, staff and local community.

There is tremendous potential on our school’s site to develop its existing resources. We have a popular Forest School area, an allotment, pond, SEN space and garden but development is needed to improve these spaces to make them fit for purpose.

Improvement of these areas will mean the school will be able to deliver a range of activities that will enrich the curriculum, build community, support well-being and develop environmental sustainability. Here’s how:

Thanks to recent funding from Kingston Parish Council, the school has been able to start purchasing horticulture equipment, and work with an outdoor learning practitioner.  Our ‘Great Outdoors Project’ has also been selected to receive match-funding from ESCC’s ‘Community Wellbeing Fund’.

This means we will receive up to £5k of match-funding from the council for the money raised here on Crowdfunder.

To get started, we’re hoping to raise £3k to begin work on the outdoor spaces that need attention most—such as our garden, allotment, SEN area and pond—this is so they can be better accessed and used by the children & teaching staff.

Any donation, big or small, is warmly welcomed so please give as you can. And as a show of our appreciation, we're offering veggie-themed rewards for your donations (hit the orange 'Support us' tab at top of page for further info).   What veg will you be? Smashing pumpkin or an enormous turnip?

WHO WE ARE

The PTFA is a charitable organisation set up for all parents, teachers, friends and associates to support the school. It plays a vital role in helping the school to achieve its goals and runs a lively programme of events and activities to fundraise for the priorities the school has identified.

To ensure the success of this project, and help make our outdoor environment a great place to be for all, the PTFA will run the Great Outdoors Project as its main fundraising campaign for 2022/3 .

Don’t forget, as this project has been selected for match-funding by ESCC, this means we can double the money we raise here on Crowdfunder.

Please therefore share the link to this page with your friends and family on social media to help us access the full funding available.

THANK YOU!
