Aim

Liz Majka is raising funds to support her trip to Spain with the 2024 GB Womens American Football Team!

Hi all, my name is Liz Majka and I play American Football for the Great Britain Womens Team! 

My football career began in Canada at the age of 10 on an all boys team. At the time there were no female based teams available so I had no other option but to push through and play. I was faced with a lot of challenges, but quickly became a force to be reckoned with on and off the pitch.
As time went on, it became apparent that I could not continue playing football due to safety concerns that came with playing on a male dominated team.

When I moved to the UK I soon discovered several opportunities football could bring, meaning I didn’t have to retire from a sport I fell in love with at such a young age.

I began my trials with GB in September 2023 leading to the success of my selection for the 2024 squad. This selection is truly a dream come true for me and I never would’ve thought opportunities like this would come my way. 

The team is now at the final stages of preparation for our game against Team Spain in April - this is the second leg of our European Championship journey after competing with Sweden and Germany in 2023. 

American Football within the UK is still largely self funded meaning each individual player funds their own equipment, travel, accommodation and training fees for their season. 

I am asking for help to raise funds for the above to support my season with GB, along with the costs of my journey to London from Preston, to travel alongside my teammates and coaches.
