Aim

Please help the Great Britain Men's Fastpitch team to go to the World Championships in Whitehorse, Canada.

About the Great British Men's team 

The GB Men's Fastpitch Team are currently ranked 10th in the world and this summer will be going to the ISF Men's World Championships in Whitehorse, Cananda and will aim to increase their world ranking. This team has been built around  around the one that competed in the European Championship in Italy last summer, finishing fifth.

Nine of the players selected played in the Great Britain Fastpitch League (GBFL) last season, and of these, five are former Academy Softball players, demonstrating the continued development of domestic players that can compete at the highest level in men’s softball.

These players will be enhanced with veterans who can provide additional pitching and offensive experience, since the aim at the Championship is to improve on GB’s current world ranking.

Team Manager Lee Grafton said, “Long-term, the ambition is to give more domestic-based players have the opportunity to travel with the GB team, and this squad is a good step towards that goal.”

Why are we Crowdfunding?

Unfortunately due to the lack of funding through Men's Fastpitch Softball, players have no choice but to self fund the trips. It costs £1,750 for each participant just to attend the World Championships and we need your help in raising money for both coaches and players to attend. This does not take into account the numerous hours of commitments to overseas warm up tournaments prior to the World Championships. 

Where will the money be used?

Your donation will help towards the following costs. Our team relies (survives) on generous donations from fans, friends and family:

• Travel (Transfers from the accommodation to the grounds, flights to Canada)
• Accommodation (We plan to stay in Canada for 20 days costing around $20-$40 dollars per night)
• Tournament Fees (Player registration fees)
• Team Staff and Physio (Including Coaches, Managers and Team Physio)
• Kit (New Shirts, trousers, hats)
• Training Camp (Pitch hire, equipment, transfers to and from the fields)
• Food and Laundry
