Raising money for the children's cancer ward at Nottingham QMC (80%) and the Gracie Barra UK Ambassadors programme (20%).
On April 20th 2024 we will be hosting a Charity Grapple-a-thon to support the Children's Cancer Ward (E39) at Nottingham QMC and the Gracie Barra UK Ambassadors Programme.
2 years ago our community came together to raise funds for the ward where one of our young students was fighting cancer. Today he is back on the mats training with us thanks to the exceptional care he received at the ward. We want to continue to show our support for them and everything they do by raising money for them once again. We'll be donating 80% of the total amount raised to Nottingham Hospitals Charity for the E39 ward.
As well as that, we will also be raising money for the Gracie Barra UK Ambassadors Programme. This is a non-profit platform that supports our athletes to be able to compete and represent Gracie Barra at the highest level of competition both nationally and internationally. The Programme is volunteer run and relies on donations and funds raised by our team all across the UK to continue their work.
Coach Martha is Gracie Barra Arnold's first GB Ambassador and we want to do our bit to help the programme continue to support our athletes! 20% of the total amount raised will be donated to the GB UK Ambassadors Programme.
To raise money we will be having a Grapple-a-Thon taking place from 9am-9pm for a total of 12 hours of Jiu-Jitsu in the Academy! The kids will have challenges and games from 9am-12pm and the adults will follow with 9 hours of Jiu-Jitsu with special guest instructors and lots of training!
