As anyone that has used the Practice nets at Grange Road recently will attest there is a dire need to refurbish and upgrade in time for 2026
Olton & West Warwickshire Cricket Club is an established club in Solihull. We currently have 5 sides on a Saturday, who play league matches in the Warwickshire Cricket League, numerous youth development sides from under 10s to under 17s, and a Sunday side made up of players from all teams who play in the 100 ball game. We are a part of a wider multi-sports club at West Warwickshire Sports Club.
Dear Friends, Supporters, and Cricket Enthusiasts,
OWWCC has been a cornerstone of the local community since 1888, providing a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for players of all ages and abilities—from our enthusiastic Dynamos and junior teams to our competitive senior sides. We are more than just a club; we are a family.
However, maintaining a thriving community hub and providing high-quality facilities requires continuous investment. We are reaching out to you today to help us raise £15,000 to secure the future of cricket in Olton.
Your generous donation will directly fund crucial refurbishment and upgraded Practice facilities that will benefit every single member of our club
The plan is to refurbish the existing 2 lanes and add an additional shorter lane to increase capacity and participation during the various nets sessions

Our chosen contractor will deliver a full refurbishment, focused on player welfare, surface performance, and longevity:
• New Batting Carpets & Shockpads: 2.74m x 11m batting carpets laid over advanced shockpads. The result: a much-improved, consistent surface that reduces impact and allows for confident, high-quality practice.
• Deep Cleaning & Surface Restoration: carrying out a full de-weed and powerbrush treatment across the area, reviving the bowlers’ run-ups and surrounding carpets to restore both looks and function.
• Upgraded Netting & Safety Features: New 3mm netting wto be installed along with fresh batting screens and vermin skirts, enhancing safety and creating a more enclosed, distraction-free environment for players.

There are four simple ways to help us reach our target, and make this project a reality.
1. Make a pledge. Don’t delay if you’re going to support us because momentum is key to our success!
2. Spread the word. Share our project on your social media pages and tell the world to get behind us! The more people we reach, the more support we will get.
3. Offer rewards. Get involved if you are a local business by donating things we can offer to our supporters. We will give you a shout out!
4. Fundraise for us. If you want to run your own fundraiser – maybe a sponsored activity or similar – use the 'contact project' button at the top of our page to let us know. Setting up your own page only takes a few minutes and you won’t need any bank details. Just a fun idea!
