Support clean, local energy. Your donation helps us install solar panels to keep our community space sustainable.
Grange Pavilion has always been built by the community, for the community — and now we’re taking the next big step to protect our neighbourhood from the impacts of a changing climate.
Our new campaign focuses on installing solar panels and battery storage, a vital upgrade that will help Grangetown prevent, prepare for and adapt to climate change. By generating clean energy on site, storing excess power for peak times, and reducing our reliance on fossil fuels, this project will make the Pavilion more resilient, more affordable and more sustainable for everyone who uses it.
How this project delivers Climate Action
Clean energy generation: Solar panels will cut carbon emissions every day, directly reducing the Pavilion’s environmental footprint.
Energy resilience: Battery storage means we can store surplus power and use it when the grid is under pressure, helping the community adapt to rising energy instability.
Lower running costs: By reducing bills, we protect the Pavilion from future price shocks caused by climate‑related energy volatility.
A greener, safer neighbourhood: This upgrade is the first step in a wider programme of environmental improvements that will make the Pavilion more climate‑resilient for decades to come.
Why your support matters right now
Every pound donated will be match‑funded, doubling your impact.
This match funding is essential because we have already been successful in securing a major Community Facilities Programme (CFP) grant but we cannot access it until we raise this match funding. The solar and battery system is both:
a standalone climate‑action upgrade, and
the key that unlocks the full programme of sustainability works.
If we reach our target, the entire CFP scheme can go ahead. If we don’t, the wider improvements cannot happen.
