ABOUT THE GIG
Frank Turner and Beans On Toast hosted a one off streamed gig LIVE from our stage, with very special guest Billy Bragg joining for a few songs and conversation via satellite link up, an some wonderfully talented friendly faces in support.
All to help Save The Grand, one of London's oldest Independent Venue's, The Clapham Grand ❤️

This was a very special gig, streamed LIVE from our stage, to raise vital funds to enable The Clapham Grand to reopen after it's enforced Covid-19 closure. With £50k a month rent still being charged, no income and no opening date, one of London's oldest and biggest Independent venue's is dangerously close to closing forever.
Frank Turner's love & support of Independent Venue's is incredible, and we are proud to be hosting his 13th show to support them, making his debut on our stage! Another huge supporter of independent venue's Beans On Toast will also be playing live, joined by the one and only Billy Bragg for a chat & two tracks performed via satellite link up!
Some wonderful friends & family from London's amazing live music scene of the mid 00's will also be performing, as Alfie (The Holloways), Gerry (SixNationState) & Ciara Haidar all be playing a few tracks, alongside DJ sets from the legendary Tom Frog, Big O, good vibes from Dave Danger and hosted by The Grand's manager, Ally Wolf.
PLEASE NOTE
This show will be filmed on the grand stage following government physical distancing guidelines, no performers will be in direct contact and will only in the venue for the duration of their performance.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE GRAND- INDEPENDENTLY OWNED & ENTERTAINING YOU SINCE 1900!
We are the only existing original variety theatre in London who are still serving up an affordable modern variety of entertainment. From discos to boxing, from movie nights to drag shows, from stand-up to podcasts, live music to theatre from bingo to Bollywood. We are a home to major LGBTQ+ & POC programming and a lifeline space for artists and promoters striding forwards in their careers from pubs and cabaret clubs to arenas and stadiums.
We are run by a passionate work force of all ages, from an enthusiastic young team at the start of their careers gaining invaluable experience to people who have worked with us for over 20 years, with young families and mortgages to support.
Throughout those 120 years we have provided a safe space for all of you to come and be entertained, to escape the stresses and strains of everyday life, and immerse yourselves in our never-ending array of shows, parties and performances.
We have survived two world wars, riots, multiple recessions, a decade of closure in the 80’s and even the last global flu-pandemic in 1918 and we now ask for your help to survive this one.
