We're still collecting donations

On the 19th March 2021 we'd raised £400 with 16 supporters in 35 days. But as every pound matters, we're continuing to collect donations from supporters.

 New stretch target

If more than £500 is raised then any excess will be used to purchase more equipment and other resources for community based wildlife projects.

1613147353_crowdfunder_3.jpgIn late spring 2020 I ran a Crowdfunder to raise funds to buy equipment and other resources to produce wildlife related videos and also, when restrictions allowed, to run free community events and workshops. Unfortunately restrictions never eased enough to allow community events but I did produce some videos and since 1 Jan 2021 I have been uploading videos as part of a project called My Wildlife Year.

Each week I upload a video to YouTube and IGTV covering what wildlife activities I have done that week, reviews of equipment & books, wildlife watching hints & tips and chatting to other wildlife people about what they do. I have already used equipment from my 2020 Crowdfunder and will use the rest throughout the year. Hopefully it won't be too long before I am also using it at community events and workshops!

The funds from this Crowfunder will be used to develop a community project to get people looking at what wildlife is in their garden through using equipment such as hedgehog tunnels and trail cameras. The donations last year allowed the purchase of 10 hedgehog tunnels, a moth trap and ID guides. These will be used in this community project but I want to expand the project as much as I can so that as many people can get involved as possible. For that reason I have set the target at £500 which will allow me to get a further 50 hedgehog tunnels and 2 trail cameras, along with SD cards and rechargable batteries. The geographical coverage of the project will depend on how many tunnels I have. If this target of £500 is not reached then I will reduce the number of hedgehog tunnels pruchased. If the target is exceeded then other equipment to be used in the project will be purchased.

This community project and a couple of others I have in development (their launch will depend on covid restrictions) will hopefully not only bring people enjoyment but will also improve their mental health and well-being. The current pandemic has had a negative effect on so many people's mental health that I hope my community projects and My Wildlife Year videos, which will feature any projects I develop, will help reduce this effect.

I wish to thank in advance anyone who makes a donation and also to make it clear that I do not expect anyone who donated last year to donate now.

Please remember I am always more than happy to assist with any wildlife related queries, beit help with ID or a general bit of wildlife advice. Please just get in touch.
